I'm Messy!

Every once in a while Ada enjoys hamming it up for the camera. Here she was showing off how "messy" she was. She can be so sassy but yet so sweet! How can you resist this cute little face?

It's a Butterfly Hunt...

Benjamin and Ada enjoy going to the Outdoor Campus to learn about animals, play on the park, and go for a walk. Here they enjoyed a nice day and were able to go butterfly hunting. Don't they look so grown up?

South Dakota State Fair...

Dave, Benjamin, and Ada came to visit me at the South Dakota State Fair. I looked forward to seeing them and checking out the sites as a family. Ada loves/loved anything to do with animals so anytime an animal was near it had her attention. Benjamin loved going on rides (see the post below) and could have cared less if he saw any sites at the fair (except for the rides). In order to allow both kids to enjoy themselves Dave and I decided it would be easier to go our separate ways with each kid and then meet back up.
Can you believe my hands-on animal girl? She sure has come a long way! She used to be so shy and scared of animals and now she wants to man handle them! We had a good time and as Benjamin would say, "we were so exhausted."

Rides, Rides, Rides...

We bought Benjamin an unlimited ride wrist band while we were at the South Dakota State Fair. He loved it and he definitely got our money's worth out of it. We tried to count the number of rides he went on the whole day but when we got to 50 we lost count!

Checking out the Wranglers...

I think she is a little young to be checking out wrangler butts, don't you?

Birthday Party Take 2...

Benjamin and Ada had so much fun with their Dora and Diego birthday party that they had with their friends that we decided to do it all over again with the relatives. They each shared the birthday cake and we put 4 candles on it for Benjamin and 2 candles on it for Ada. We served Mexican for the birthday meal. Tacos are by far Ada's favorite food so it was very fitting for their party. Benjamin broke out his Diego costume for another day while Ada enjoyed showing off all her birthday presents. She is becoming quite the little girly girl which is so much fun but a challenge at the same time!

We had a few friends over for Benjamin's 4th birthday and Ada's 2nd birthday. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. When we asked Benjamin what his favorite part was he said "being dressed like Diego and waiting for my friends to come over to my house for my birthday party." It was definitely an adventure alright but well worth the work to see the smiles on these two's faces! Mommy and Daddy love you very much and we hope you enjoyed your special day!

He Did It!

At our church we have a children's offering and at every mass Benjamin wants to bring up an offering but he is way too shy to actually go up there. The way it goes for us, is he will take his offering and walk a mere couple of feet from our pew, see the other kids, see father, and turn around and come back to us. He will attempt to bring his offering up 3 or 4 times before he runs out of time and the collection is done. When he realizes that he has missed his chance at bringing up his offering he will burst into tears because he is so sad about not taking his offering up. Yesterday, was a break through for Benjamin as he actually brought up his offering. He was so proud of himself! He came back running to me and gave me a huge hug! It was so sweet!

Why Me?

I have not forgotten about updating this blog, I really haven't. I have just been so busy. I can't believe that it is the middle of October already. Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were at the Turner County Fair and here we are one State Fair, two birthdays, one mini-getaway, and one Extension Annual Conference later. Oh, how could I forget all the rain and the snow that we have already received?

The next few posts will be out of order but I will get them recorded in our virtual scrapbook of memories. Yesterday we took advantage of our Fall like day after church. We spent many hours playing at the park and going for a bike/wagon ride. We also did some yard clean-up. I was feeling good about all the work we had done and said how I wanted to clean-up the garage and get everything organized and tidy for winter. We, I mean Dave, painted the house this fall in the midst of everything going on. We don't have the trim done but the main part of the house is painted and looks awesome!

Anyhow, Dave left the paint cans sitting at the end of the garage. Everyday that I took the van out with the kids I was hoping and praying that I would not hit them. Well, my worst fear can true yesterday. As the kids and I were driving home from the laundry mat (we went to wash an extra large comforter that we have) I barely bumped the paint can. I had paint every where! Luckily the van escaped the paint without too much trouble--only the front passenger tire got smoked. Why me? We ended up cleaning the garage but not the cleaning that I had planned. In the end my nice maternity shirt also got smoked. I finally find a shirt that I like and fits nice and now it's ruined! Why me?
