Auntie Carrie Came to Visit...

Benjamin and Ada were excited to see Auntie Carrie but they kept asking about Uncle Matt and Bear. Ada would love to tease Carrie and call her Matt all weekend long. She will now say "Tarrie". These two sure had a good time with their auntie, especially after she gave them each a Hershey bar! I also had a good time. We took in some sales, did some shopping, visited, and just went leisurely about our day/weekend. I was excited to have an extra pair of hands to help me make Ada's tie blanket for daycare. I also decided to make a pillowcase for her pillow. Carrie sat beside me for moral support while I sewed and to see/learn what/how I made the pillowcase. I thought it turned out pretty cute, don't you? As you can tell from Ada's smile, she was pretty happy about her blanket and pillow and spending time with Auntie Carrie.

The Circus Came to Town!!

Dave and I took Benjamin and Ada to the Shriner's Circus in Sioux Falls. I don't know who was more excited, Benjamin or me! We had a great time! I could not get over how long the show was. I loved watching the elephants, the sheep dogs were Ada's favorite, Dave enjoyed the costumes (that's what he said) and Benjamin just loved taking it all in (light show, elephants, dancers, etc.). We both enjoyed seeing the excitement on the kids' faces when they saw something that caught their eye. Ada did really well throughout the whole show; she did get a little stir crazy right before intermission but then walked around the whole time during break. Benjamin just sat eyes glued to the 3 rings. It was great! We found out that we have two little cotton candy monsters! At first they didn't know what to think of the stuff and then quickly decided that they loved it. The four of us had a great time! I can't wait for next year!

Makeover...

Before:

After:

I have been wanting to try a new hairstyle for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. I had 14 inches cut off which I donated to Locks of Love (3rd time in the last 5 years). Not only did I go with short hair, I also decided to get blonde and red highlights. I think I look pretty darn smoking and sassy! What do you think? I would love to hear!

Priceless!

Ada is busy texting her friends about the fun, busy, & crazy weekend she had! She is also complaining about her dad's clothes picking out abilities! This is too cute! Now if only I knew how to text!

What a weekend!

Uncle Craig
Uncle Corey

Uncle Colin
After a weekend of playing with their niece and nephew, these three were exhausted!

Puppies...

Ada enjoyed playing with Louie (Uncle Craig and Auntie Stephanie's puppy) or, as Ada calls him, "Dewey". You can see her acting like a puppy, down on all fours with her tongue hanging out. I must admit that I think she is the cutest little puppy that I have ever seen. Sorry Louie!

Fun on the Farm...

Ada is...

hamming it up with Uncle Matt!

Benjamin's favorite part about Grandma & Grandpa's...

the 4-wheeler!

I will never let you go...

Ada loved her pinwheel so much from Grandma that she had to go to sleep with it. Isn't it cute how she is clutching on to it?

Flying Kites...

Benjamin and Ada each got a kite for Easter (just the $ 1 cheapo's from Wal-mart). Benjamin loved flying his kite while Ada hated it. She cried and through a fit whenever we attempted to fly her kite. Benjamin's kite flew great, Ada's barely every got off the ground. Benjamin did pretty good flying his kite, except the part where it got caught in a tree. I tried going over the safety/rules with Uncle Matt before he went out to fly kites and he told me not to worry as he had it under control. I don't know about you but I think safety rule number one was violated "Do not fly kites by or around tall building or trees". It was sure fun to watch Benjamin fly his kite and also watch Uncle Matt climb the tree to rescue the kite! The best dollar the Easter Bunny has ever spent!

Decorating Easter Eggs...

Grandma picked up an easter egg decorating kit for Benjamin. I don't know who was more excited about decorating easter eggs, Auntie Carrie or Benjamin. Benjamin had a good time decorating the eggs but he was having a hard time pulling off the stickers on the sheet but he could put them on without any problems. Benjamin loves doing craft projects or anything art related so this was right up his ally (except the part where we had to wait for them to dry)!

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's House...

Both Benjamin and Ada enjoyed their Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Apparently, so did Callie (the dog). She grabbed and easter egg and off she ran. Benjamin chased after her to get that egg. Both kids were not happy with her after she took one of their eggs. "Naughty Callie--go away". Don't you just love Ada's little tongue haning out?

Checking out their loot...

Easter...

Here are the kids in their Easter outfits. Don't they look so cute? Unfortunately, we did not get family picture taken. I think that from now on I need to hire a personal photographer to capture the most obvious of photos (family photo, grandparent ones, etc) because obviously what we are doing or should I say not doing is not working out very well. Oh well, maybe next time! Back too these too. Don't they just melt your heart?

Easter Baskets and a Bike...

Benjamin and Ada enjoyed digging into their Easter Baskets. That Easter Bunny was so thoughtful bringing gardening tools, gloves, and buckets for each of the kids. How did she know that we could use their help? They also each got some socks and a kite. Ada received a few things for dress-up play. But each kid thought that the spiderman bike that the Easter Bunny brought was the best! Benjamin has sure put the miles on his little bike. Ada likes to sit on it and be pushed. She would love to pedal it herself but she is a little small for it yet.

Easter Egg Hunt in our Backyard...

The Easter Bunny managed to come and hide a bunch of eggs in our backyard. The kiddos were so excited! It was so fun watching them run around looking for eggs with both a smile and determination on their face. How did that Easter Bunny know that these two kids LOVE M&M's and jelly beans? They were so excited for their candy that they had to bring it to Grandma and Grandpa's house to share.

Big, Proud Smile...

Guess who went to the dentist? Yep, it was Benjamin. I picked him up from daycare and he had the biggest smile on his face. He said he was a school kid and could go to the dentist and not cry. When they called his name he walked right in and sat down on the chair. He was a little apprehensive at first about the "bib" being put on him but he got over that very quickly. He got to see how each of the tools worked before they started using them. He sat down like a big boy and opened his mouth and let the hygenist clean them. He has a very curious tongue! It didn't matter what tooth she was cleaning--his tongue was right there trying to check it out. Same with the dentist when he came to count his teeth and to take a look at them.

The picture was taken at the dentist's office because Benjamin was/is part of the no cavity club. He was so excited to get his picture taken and to hang it on the wall next to all the other kids. Before he left they (the dentist's office) loaded him up with stuff. He got a new toothbrush, a dino flosser, a timer, a toy that he got to pick out, sticker, and a gift certificate to Pizza Ranch. Also, apparently all the no cavity kids are entered into a monthly drawing for a Barnes and Nobles gift card. Guess who also won that? Yep, Benjamin did. Dave and I are in shock as we have entered hundreds of drawings/raffles and have yet to win. And here our son is entered into a drawing which none of us knew anything about and he won. He is pretty excited to go to the bookstore to pick out a new book that he wants. Lucky guy! Dave and I are in disbelief over how fast Benjamin is growing up! It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital and here we are taking him to the dentist for a check-up.

My Baking Buddy...

Ada loves helping me in the kitchen. It doesn't matter what I cook or bake because Ada is right there with me. She loves mixing and dumping (measuring cups, spoons). She has so much fun that sometimes it is hard to get her to let go of the spoon so I can put the batter into the pan to bake it. I am a hands-on mommy so having her help me in the kitchen is right up my alley. Sometimes it takes a while before we get to eat but since she is helping she doesn't seem to mind. Doesn't she look like a natural? She's one of the cutest little cooks that I know. My baby girl is growing up too fast!!
