Where does the time go? Gunnar had his 4 month baby well visit on May 25, 2010. He weighed 17 lbs 5 oz (97 %) and was 26 inches long (95 %). His head measured 16 1/4 inches (50 %).
He is a very relaxed, happy go lucky baby. He has officially out grown the colic (he started up with colic when he was 6 weeks old and he had it for 8 weeks). It was a very exhausting time but Gunnar is the kind of baby that makes you want more. He is just so cute, cuddly, and loving! I can't picture our family any other way.
He started rolling over from his tummy to his back on May 7, 2010 and he started rolling over from his back to his belly on June 8, 2010. He smiles all the time and is very vocal. He loves to hear himself talk! Of our three children, he is the drooler of the family! I did not know that a little boy could be so wet all the time. His bibs are drenched and the same goes for his clothes, blankets, and burp cloths. Not only is he a drooler but he loves to chew on his clothes, burp cloths, and blankets. He still spits up but nearly as much or as frequent. His biggest issue is that he has a tendency to gag himself with his fingers and hand. He is always chewing on them and tends to put them in his mouth a little too far.

Gunnar's 2 Month Well Check...
Gunnar had his 2 month baby well check on March 26, 2010. He is growing like a weed! He is 24 inches long (97 %) and weighs 14 pounds 6 ounces (upper 97 %). His measured 39 1/2 cm (75 %). If you couldn't tell by those figures he is doing exceptionally well. Now, if only we could kick this colic in the butt we would be in great shape! Our little boy is growing up so fast. Where did the time go? I can't believe he is over 2 months old already! He has been really socially smiling this past week. He smiled beforehand but now he is definitely smiling when he is happy or in response to what you say. He is such a handsome little guy (no bias here)! We hope he continues to grow and thrive and remains happy and healthy.

Benjamin's 4 Year Dr. Appointment...
Benjamin was supposed to have his 4 year dr appt. last fall but with H1N1 in full force the dr's office called and asked if we could reschedule for March. So on March 1 Benjamin went in for his 4 year well check appointment. He is definitely growing up. My shy little boy took off his coat, hat, mittens, and boots and went with the nurse to get weighed and measured by himself. He told me to stay in the room with Gunnar and that he would be right back. He came back and told me how much he weighed and how tall he was. He was a typical boy as he added a couple of inches to his height (he said 42.5 inches) but he was pretty close. He weighed 36 pounds (45%) and is 40.5 inches (30%) tall. He visited with the doctor, answered questions, and chose to wear the little hospital gown so he wouldn't get cold! I wish I would have taken my camera as he looked so grown up! He is very ticklish so when the doctor examined him he was laughing the whole time. He even chose to get his kindergarten shots this time so next time he will just have a visit. I can't believe what a grown-up boy he is becoming!

2 Week Baby Well Check...
Gunnar had his 2 week baby well check today. He is growing and eating like a champ! Our little guy weighs 10 lbs 6 oz (95 %) and is 22 inches long (95 %). His head measured 36 1/2 cm (50 %). The doctor was pretty impressed with how strong Gunnar is. He likes to pick his head up and look around and move around in a full circle on his back. He is doing everything that he is supposed to be doing at this age which is what we believed he was doing but it is always reassuring to hear that.

1 year & 3 year check-ups
The kids went to their wellness check-ups on 10-6-08. Both kids were deemed very healthy and right on track developmentally. One of the questions they asked was if Benjamin could stack 5 or 6 blocks together. I started laughing because he has been doing this since before he was one year old! There were other questions that I just had to laugh and shake my head at also. They asked if Ada understood what he say to her or ask her to do. I told them definitely because if I say, "Ada, let's go get your clothes she runs to her dresser and starts to open her drawer where her clothes are." She definitely understands us! We have been working very patiently with potty training Benjamin. It has been a very slow process. He can recognize when he has to pee but is afraid to poop on the potty. There are days I feel he will never be potty trained but I have to stop myself because I do not know of anyone who has started school wearing diapers!
Ada has grown-up so much in the past week. Her hair is finally starting to come in a little (I said a little) thicker and longer. She likes to sit on the potty and has even went potty. Ada will lay down with the "big kids"(Benjamin & Quinn) to take her nap. If they still are sleeping or are laying quietly she will too. After we come in from outside, I ask her and Benjamin to take their shoes off so she sits down and takes her shoes off! Both of my children make me very proud and happy. I cannot believe how much Ada has learned to do in a year. Lately, Benjamin just seems so grown-up. He enjoys doing puzzles and he can almost do a 26 piece puzzle by himself! His knowledge and conversational skills constantly amaze me.
Anyhow, back to their doctor's appointment. Benjamin weighs 30 lbs 5 oz (50%) and is 38 1/2 inches tall (75%). The most traumatizing part of Benjamin's doctor's appointment was getting weighed and measured. He was slouching a little bit so I think he actually might be a little taller but we went with what we could get.
Ada weighs 22 lbs 15 oz (75%) and is 30 3/4 inches tall (90%). Each one of my children are officially over half my height! Good for them, scary for mom!

9 Month Appointment
The problem with the kids' doctor's office going paperless is that they forget to write down their measurements such as height and weight. I give Dave a hard time for not remembering to ask for it so he left Ada's 9 month doctor's appointment (7-22-08) without such information and he could not 100 percent remember what they said for her height and weight. He relayed information such as doing everything that she is supposed to be doing, she doesn't need any shots, etc. So here is Ada's long awaited measurements: 21 lbs 8 oz (75 %) and 30 inches tall (97 %). My little girl is officially half my height!

Ada and Mommy Update
Ada Update:
I forgot to share with everyone Ada's stats from her 6 month baby well check-up (she was actually 7 months old). Ada weighed 20 pounds 8 ounces (96%). She is 27 inches tall (75%). Her head measured 41.5 cm (12%). Her head measurement seems wrong but that's what they reported. Ada's fat rolls on her legs are starting to slowly match up and so far her hips seem to be okay. What a relief!
Mommy Update:
I went into the doctor this morning with extreme pain on my right side. After blood work and a CT scan it was determined that I have kidney stones! I have never been in such pain. This pain is far worse than childbirth (I can say that--I have had two difficult deliveries). Hopefully, the stone will pass by morning otherwise I may have to be admitted to the hospital. I am hoping that I can write some happy news tomorrow. Please keep me in your prayers.

Ada Update
Yesterday, Ada had her 4 month check-up. She is a very happy, healthy little girl. Our baby is 26 inches long (92 %) and weighs 16 lbs 13 oz (95 %). Her head measurement is 16 inches (45 %). If you couldn't tell nursing is going very well for us!! The doctor is a little concerned because one of her fat rolls on her legs doesn't match up with one on the other leg. This could mean that she has a problem with her hip, etc. We have to just wait, watch, and see if it corrects itself. Otherwise, if it is still a concern at her 6 month check-up, she will have to have x-rays to confirm that everything is okay. The doctor is not entirely concerned yet because Ada likes to bear weight on her legs and she doesn't show any signs of pain or problems when standing. Arm update--Her right arm is healed and today you wouldn't know it was ever broke. She moves it and uses it with no problems! There doesn't look to be any nerve damage so that is great news to hear.
