Why Me?

I have not forgotten about updating this blog, I really haven't. I have just been so busy. I can't believe that it is the middle of October already. Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were at the Turner County Fair and here we are one State Fair, two birthdays, one mini-getaway, and one Extension Annual Conference later. Oh, how could I forget all the rain and the snow that we have already received?

The next few posts will be out of order but I will get them recorded in our virtual scrapbook of memories. Yesterday we took advantage of our Fall like day after church. We spent many hours playing at the park and going for a bike/wagon ride. We also did some yard clean-up. I was feeling good about all the work we had done and said how I wanted to clean-up the garage and get everything organized and tidy for winter. We, I mean Dave, painted the house this fall in the midst of everything going on. We don't have the trim done but the main part of the house is painted and looks awesome!

Anyhow, Dave left the paint cans sitting at the end of the garage. Everyday that I took the van out with the kids I was hoping and praying that I would not hit them. Well, my worst fear can true yesterday. As the kids and I were driving home from the laundry mat (we went to wash an extra large comforter that we have) I barely bumped the paint can. I had paint every where! Luckily the van escaped the paint without too much trouble--only the front passenger tire got smoked. Why me? We ended up cleaning the garage but not the cleaning that I had planned. In the end my nice maternity shirt also got smoked. I finally find a shirt that I like and fits nice and now it's ruined! Why me?

A Sweet Surprise...

Dave and I have an announcement to make---

---we are expecting baby # 3 in early February 2010! We are really excited about our upcoming addition to our family. February seems so far away!

Benjamin and Ada want a baby sister but only time will tell as what we are having. We chose not to find out. We like the sweet surprise! I am sorry for the big break in my blogging but I hope you all understand why. I just have been too exhausted lately to do much of anything but I promise I have a bunch of posts that I will update soon.

Big Changes...

To say that I have been busy would be an under statement. When I came home from Florida I was greeted with two very happy kids, one nervous husband, and a very friendly, laid back kitty. Yep, Dave and the kids adopted a kitty while I was gone. His name is Sammy and he puts up with kids very well. In fact, I don't think we could have asked for a more tolerant cat. Benjamin loves his Sammy and will show anyone who comes by his kitty. Ada loves chasing Sammy around and saying "hey little kitty" and putting her hand on his neck. She never squeezes but always makes me nervous. Sammy had a terrible bout of kitty flu but you would never know it now! He certainly has his hiding places which makes Ada and Benjamin a little unhappy. I am sure I will have many more stories to share about the adventures of Sammy in our house.

So excited!

Before preschool started there was an open house held so Benjamin could meet his teacher and his classmates. He had to bring along all his school supplies that he had to leave there. If you can't tell by the pictures, he is one super excited boy to start preschool! Plus, he loves his T-rex backpack that he got from Grandma and Grandpa C. Ada also got to tag along to the preschool open house and since she saw Benjamin get his picture taken she had to have her picture taken too. Aren't they getting big?

Skeeball...

Ada could care less about going on rides but she loved playing skeeball! Of course Benjamin couldn't just sit back and watch Ada have fun so he had to play too. Combining the tokens that each kid won we were able to bring home a small stuffed animal (lion). I must admit that I enjoy playing skeeball too but I am not good at it at all!

The Cutest Little Frogs that I Have Ever Seen...

The Outdoor Campus came to the Turner County Fair so Dave took the kids to their presentation and activity. Both Benjamin and Ada made frog masks. I think that they turned out pretty darn cute don't you?

Rides, Rides, Rides...

Benjamin loves going on rides. If he was allowed he would go on the "big people" rides (the ones he is too small for both in age and height). He has no fear and we have yet to seem him not like a ride. Ada on the other hand preferred watching the rides and only going in the bouncy house. She must think it is safer or something. Except, I must admit that somehow my bounced his way out the bouncy house surprising and confusing us all. He just shrugged his shoulders and went right back in. Going down the slide was a favorite of Benjamin's. I think Dave liked it to as Benjamin was to small to go by himself so Dave went with him every time for free! Benjamin just smiled the whole time while being on the rides while Dave would groan every once in a while when they would hit a bump or ridge on the slide.
