Hooked on a book

If there is one thing that Dave and I are guilty of it is reading to our kids. We spend a lot of time reading to both Benjamin and Ada. Benjamin has always loved being read to since he was just a few months old. His daycare provider was always amazed at how he would sit still while being read too and how he would look at books and read out loud to himself. He is two now and still has a love for books and reading. Ada apparently has a love for books too. But if you notice she is quite a bit advanced with her reading! She couldn't get enough of aunt Carrie's book "High Maintenance". Carrie's book obviously had no pictures so I am not quite sure what attracted Ada to that book but it had to be something! The kids receive a free book each month from the Sioux Empire United Way. Benjamin has sure accumulated a pile of books already! When Dave and I look at the kids' book collection we realize that there is not a single book that we have not read. Benjamin definitely has his favorite books. I don't know how a person can listen to the same story over and over and over and over again day in and day out. I purchased the Usborne Complete Book of Farmyard Tales (it has 20 stories & about 300 pages) thinking we could read a few stories each night from the book. Let's just say that there have been days where I have read that book cover to cover and Benjamin is still asking me to read it again! We really do enjoy reading to the kids and watching their eyes light up when something excites or interests them. We get just as excited as Benjamin when a new book comes in the mail.

That picture is too cute!! Isabella loves reading too, it's her favorite thing to do. We also get the United Way books, aren't they awesome!
