Easter Baskets and a Bike...

Benjamin and Ada enjoyed digging into their Easter Baskets. That Easter Bunny was so thoughtful bringing gardening tools, gloves, and buckets for each of the kids. How did she know that we could use their help? They also each got some socks and a kite. Ada received a few things for dress-up play. But each kid thought that the spiderman bike that the Easter Bunny brought was the best! Benjamin has sure put the miles on his little bike. Ada likes to sit on it and be pushed. She would love to pedal it herself but she is a little small for it yet.

Easter Egg Hunt in our Backyard...

The Easter Bunny managed to come and hide a bunch of eggs in our backyard. The kiddos were so excited! It was so fun watching them run around looking for eggs with both a smile and determination on their face. How did that Easter Bunny know that these two kids LOVE M&M's and jelly beans? They were so excited for their candy that they had to bring it to Grandma and Grandpa's house to share.

Big, Proud Smile...

Guess who went to the dentist? Yep, it was Benjamin. I picked him up from daycare and he had the biggest smile on his face. He said he was a school kid and could go to the dentist and not cry. When they called his name he walked right in and sat down on the chair. He was a little apprehensive at first about the "bib" being put on him but he got over that very quickly. He got to see how each of the tools worked before they started using them. He sat down like a big boy and opened his mouth and let the hygenist clean them. He has a very curious tongue! It didn't matter what tooth she was cleaning--his tongue was right there trying to check it out. Same with the dentist when he came to count his teeth and to take a look at them.

The picture was taken at the dentist's office because Benjamin was/is part of the no cavity club. He was so excited to get his picture taken and to hang it on the wall next to all the other kids. Before he left they (the dentist's office) loaded him up with stuff. He got a new toothbrush, a dino flosser, a timer, a toy that he got to pick out, sticker, and a gift certificate to Pizza Ranch. Also, apparently all the no cavity kids are entered into a monthly drawing for a Barnes and Nobles gift card. Guess who also won that? Yep, Benjamin did. Dave and I are in shock as we have entered hundreds of drawings/raffles and have yet to win. And here our son is entered into a drawing which none of us knew anything about and he won. He is pretty excited to go to the bookstore to pick out a new book that he wants. Lucky guy! Dave and I are in disbelief over how fast Benjamin is growing up! It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital and here we are taking him to the dentist for a check-up.

My Baking Buddy...

Ada loves helping me in the kitchen. It doesn't matter what I cook or bake because Ada is right there with me. She loves mixing and dumping (measuring cups, spoons). She has so much fun that sometimes it is hard to get her to let go of the spoon so I can put the batter into the pan to bake it. I am a hands-on mommy so having her help me in the kitchen is right up my alley. Sometimes it takes a while before we get to eat but since she is helping she doesn't seem to mind. Doesn't she look like a natural? She's one of the cutest little cooks that I know. My baby girl is growing up too fast!!

Birthday Party for Daddy

Benjamin decided to throw his own birthday party for daddy. In his words, "I took what I wanted from the fridge to make snacks for daddy's party." He set this all up in our bedroom with our round table. (He claims it as his while I am washing the tablecloth). He was just so proud of himself for giving daddy a birthday party. You have to love the smile, don't you?

Birthday Cake

We made Daddy a Yo, Gabba Gabba Cake for his birthday (Benjamin & Ada's idea). I think it looks pretty good. Benjamin told Dave, "wow, I get to take a Yo, Gabba Gabba cake to Dani's house to share with all my friends" and then in his next breath he said, "when are we going to eat the cake?". Between you and me, I think Benjamin just wanted to eat cake!
Dave and Benjamin learned about Yo, Gabba Gabba from our nephew Ethan (my kiddo's cousin). We don't get cable and we bearly get PBS so we would never have stumbled upon this crazy character. We have watched an episode or two on nickjr.com. My kids are big into animals and dinosaurs so they immediately liked this character (not that they watch the videos) but they like playing with the characters that I printed and cut out. They make up their own stories and games with them.
